Thriving with Hashimoto's

What my routine looked like, the role of gluten and diet, and what I've learned managing Hashimoto's through pregnancy and postpartum.

Thriving with Hashimoto's | Best You Mom

Here's what was part of my routine during this window, though I can't say which of it mattered, if any:

Made sleep a priority โ€” aiming for 8 hours minimum

Two Brazil nuts each morning

Stopped once I started levothyroxine during my second pregnancy โ€” unsure how they'd interact.

Consistent protein intake

Eggs, overnight oats (GF), oatmeal (GF), Greek yogurt (DF), steak, chicken, fish, nuts, protein shakes, coconut milk yogurt with chia and flax seeds.

Anti-inflammatory smoothies

Organic aloe vera juice

Stopped once I learned I was pregnant with my second in 2026.

Castor oil packs on my neck

Stopped once I learned I was pregnant with my second in 2026.

Red light therapy

Stopped once I learned I was pregnant with my second in 2026.

Lower-intensity exercise

Gluten-free and dairy-free

About 90% since learning I was pregnant in May 2026, likely moving to 100% soon.

Breastfeeding 1โ€“4 times a day

Until about 5.5 weeks into my second pregnancy in May 2026.

Targeted supplementation based on deficiencies shown in my labs

With recommendations from the team at Common Ground to help me meet my goals.
