Thyroid Wellness

Thyroid dysfunction is common postpartum but often mistaken for normal new-mom exhaustion. Left unchecked, it can affect energy, mood, weight, and long-term health.

Postpartum Family Planning

Understanding your options for preventing pregnancy postpartum — before you're ready for another. Includes fertility awareness, LAM, and what to discuss with your provider.

Thriving with Hashimoto's

Hashimoto's is the most common cause of hypothyroidism — and it often goes undiagnosed for years, with symptoms dismissed as stress, "just motherhood," or normal fatigue. This pillar is for women navigating an autoimmune thyroid diagnosis alongside pregnancy, postpartum, and motherhood.

Maddie Karia, founder of Best You Mom, with her son at 13 months postpartum

Meet the Founder

Maddie Karia

COTA | Health Informatics | Endurance Athlete | Mom

I'm a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant with a background in sports medicine and women's health, and I recently completed a degree in health informatics. I'm also a mom, an endurance athlete, and someone who's lived the gap Best You Mom is built to close — and right now, I'm building it while pregnant with my second.

My first pregnancy was genuinely great. I stayed active throughout and felt strong and supported the whole way. But postpartum was a different story. I didn't know what was actually normal and what wasn't. I didn't always know whether something called for a holistic approach or whether it was time to see a doctor. I got through it well, but only because I had the right people in my corner — and I think often about how differently things could have gone without that.

This time around, I'm approaching pregnancy with everything I learned, and building the resource I wish I'd had for what comes after. Best You Mom is grounded in real clinical knowledge, not generic wellness advice, meant to help you understand your body through every stage — from trying to conceive through pregnancy and postpartum.

This isn't a side project. It's personal, and I'm living it in real time.

We're building something meaningful.

Best You Mom is designed to help women understand, track, and advocate for their health through pregnancy, postpartum, and beyond. We're currently developing the platform and would love for you to follow the journey.
